Beyond Safety Standards
Three Principles Every Baby Toy We Make Must Follow
From the first sketch to the final shipment, these three rules govern every baby toy that leaves our factory floor.
Mouth-First Engineering
Every design decision starts from one truth: babies explore the world mouth-first. We engineer every surface, seam, and material choice assuming constant oral contact — zero sharp edges, zero detachable bits, and zero chemical leaching even after hours of chewing.
Stage-Locked by Month
0–3 months needs high-contrast visual tracking. 3–6 months demands graspable shapes. 6–12 months craves cause-and-effect. We don't just slap an age label on — we design, test, and certify each toy against the exact developmental window it's built for.
Batch-Level Traceability
Every silicone lot, fabric roll, and wood shipment is logged with a unique batch ID. Raw material certificates, inline QC checks, and finished-product test reports stay on file for 5 years. If a question ever arises about your product, we trace it to the source — in hours, not weeks.

Materials
Four Materials. Zero Compromises.
Every material we use is tested, certified, and chosen specifically for babies — because 'good enough' never is.
Food-Grade Silicone
LFGB and FDA-approved platinum-cured silicone. No BPA, PVC, phthalates, or chemical softeners. Heat-resistant to 200°C — dishwasher and sterilizer safe. Available in any Pantone color with matte or glossy finish. The only material we use for teethers, pacifier clips, and mouthable toys.
Organic Cotton
GOTS-certified organic cotton — grown without pesticides, processed without harmful chemicals. OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified for baby products. Incredibly soft against newborn skin, fully breathable, and machine-washable. Used for plush toys, comfort blankets, and sensory cloth books.
Sustainable Wood
FSC-certified beech, maple, and rubberwood from managed forests. Finished with food-safe, water-based coatings — no varnish, no solvents, no toxins. Splinter-free sanding (240-grit minimum) and rounded edges on every piece. Safe for babies who explore the world mouth-first.
BPA-Free Plastics
Food-grade PP and Tritan plastics — BPA-free, phthalate-free, PVC-free. Impact-resistant, dishwasher-safe, and colorfast. Every batch tested for chemical migration per EN71-3 and FDA standards. Used for stacking toys, bath toys, sorting shapes, and teething rings.
How We Test
Five Tests Every Baby Toy Must Survive Before It Ships
Standard manufacturing QC isn't enough for babies. These five gate tests are what separate a 'safe' toy from a LeelineToys toy.
Saliva & Drool Testing
Every material undergoes 24-hour synthetic saliva immersion at 37°C body temperature. We test for chemical migration, colorfastness, and material degradation — because babies explore the world mouth-first. Only materials that pass zero-leaching standards are approved for production.
Bite & Chew Durability
Simulated bite-cycle testing using calibrated jaw-pressure replicas. Silicone teethers endure 5,000+ cycles without tearing or cracking. Wooden and plastic components tested to 50N bite force — far exceeding what any baby can exert. No material failure, no small-particle release.
Small-Parts Cylinder Test
Every component — eyes, rattles, clips, buttons — passes through the 16 CFR 1501 small-parts cylinder (31.7mm diameter). Anything that fits is redesigned or eliminated. For 0–3 age products, we use one-piece construction and embroidered features that can never detach.
Dishwasher & Sterilizer Validation
100-cycle dishwasher testing at 70°C with standard detergent. Silicone, plastic, and sealed wooden toys must retain shape, color, and surface integrity through every cycle. Parents can sterilize daily — the toy stays exactly as sold.
Seam Pull Strength
Every stitched seam on plush and fabric toys is pull-tested to 70N minimum — over 7kg of force. Double-stitched and lock-stitched seams ensure no stuffing escapes, no fingers get trapped, and the toy survives years of enthusiastic love. Tested per ASTM F963 seam-slippage protocol.
Sample-First Approach
Sample-First Approach: Hold It Before You Commit
You shouldn't have to commit to thousands of units without touching your product first. Our prototype program lets you see, feel, and test your baby toy before production — with zero obligation to continue.
Your Prototype Package
Revision Policy
Two revision rounds are included with every prototype at no extra cost. If you need additional revisions — adjusting the teether shape, changing fabric texture, modifying the rattle sound — each extra round costs 15–25% of the original prototype fee. Most clients approve within 2 rounds; 90% of projects proceed to production after prototype approval.
Total Timeline
From your first message to holding your prototype: 2 weeks for simple toys, 3–4 weeks for detailed toys, 4–5 weeks for premium. Add 24–48 hours for international shipping via DHL/FedEx. Rush service available for time-sensitive launches — contact us for availability.
Client Stories
What Baby Brands Say About Working Direct
Claire Atkinson
Co-Founder, Tiny Chews Co.
We needed baby-safe silicone teethers that could survive endless chewing and weekly dishwasher cycles. LeelineToys recommended the exact food-grade silicone and helped us pick colors that 'popped' on Instagram. Two years later, those original samples still look brand new — and we've reordered six times.
Rachel Kim
Founder, Little Bloom Toys
As a mom-founded brand, material safety was our #1 concern. LeelineToys provided full FDA and EN71 documentation before we even asked — and when we needed GOTS-certified organic cotton for our plush line, they sourced it within 48 hours. Working with a factory that 'gets' baby safety is priceless.

FAQ About Baby Toys
Everything You Need to Know About Baby Toy Manufacturing
All baby toys are manufactured to meet EN71 (Europe), ASTM F963 (U.S.), CPSIA, and ISO 8124 standards. For mouthable toys like silicone teethers, we also comply with FDA 21 CFR for food-contact materials. Every shipment includes full compliance documentation — test reports, certificates of conformity, and material traceability records. We work exclusively with SGS, Intertek, and other ISO 17025-accredited labs for third-party testing.
We use only baby-safe materials: food-grade platinum-cured silicone (FDA and LFGB approved), GOTS-certified organic cotton, OEKO-TEX certified fabrics, FSC-certified sustainable wood with water-based finishes, and BPA-free/phthalate-free food-grade plastics (PP and Tritan). All materials are tested for chemical migration, heavy metals, and toxicity before production. We never use PVC, BPA, phthalates, or chemical flame retardants in any baby toy.
MOQ starts at 300 units for organic cotton plush and sensory toys, and 500 units for silicone teethers, wooden rattles, and plastic toys. This is significantly lower than the industry standard of 3,000–5,000 units. We offer prototype-only orders — you can get a single prototype with no obligation to proceed to production. This lets you validate your design, test materials, or use the prototype for crowdfunding photography before committing.
Choke hazard prevention is engineered into every design — not inspected in after. Our safety design process includes: small-parts assessment per 16 CFR 1501 (small parts cylinder test), seam strength testing for plush toys (minimum 70N pull force), secure attachment of all components (eyes, rattles, clips), and age-grade verification. For 0–3 age group, we use embroidered features instead of safety eyes, seamless silicone designs, and one-piece construction wherever possible.
Yes — sustainability is a core capability. We offer FSC-certified wood with full chain-of-custody documentation, GOTS-certified organic cotton, OEKO-TEX Standard 100 fabrics, Global Recycled Standard (GRS) recycled plastics, and water-based inks. We provide full eco-certification documentation for your sustainability claims. We also offer FSC-certified paper packaging and plastic-free packaging options.
Silicone teething toys require mold creation. After you approve the 3D design, we create a single-cavity prototype mold (2–4 days). Your prototype is produced in your exact Pantone colors with your logo/embossing. You receive the physical prototype plus a detailed safety review — material certification, choke hazard assessment, and age-grade recommendation. Two revision rounds are included. Once approved, full production molds (multi-cavity) are created for mass production. Prototype cost is credited toward your production order.
Absolutely. Baby toy packaging is integrated into our manufacturing workflow. Options include: window boxes (for retail shelf visibility), eco-friendly kraft boxes with FSC certification, hang tags with safety warnings and tracking labels, bilingual packaging for multi-market distribution, and display-ready packaging for big-box retail. All packaging meets child safety requirements — no sharp edges, no small loose parts, and appropriate age warnings. We handle CPSIA tracking label requirements for U.S.-bound products.
Production typically takes 15–25 days from prototype approval, depending on order size and toy complexity. Total timeline: 2–3 days for design consultation, 5–10 days for prototype (including mold creation for silicone), 7–14 days for lab testing (runs parallel to prototyping), and 15–25 days for production. A typical project of 1,000–5,000 baby toys ships within 35–50 days from your initial concept. Rush production is available for time-sensitive launches — ask our team.
